About Miss. Kelly:

Miss Kelly

Miss Kelly was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She and her family (her older sister, Katie, and mom and dad) moved to Raleigh, North Carolina shortly thereafter, so she grew up in the Capital City!

Miss Kelly is a graduate of Appalachian State University in the lovely mountains of Boone, North Carolina (Go Mountaineers!!!). During her time at ASU, she loved to explore the outdoors through hiking, skiing, and other adventures! Miss Kelly loves to travel to Boone as often as she can during weekends and track-outs.
It has been Miss Kelly’s dream to become a teacher since she was seven years old. Miss Kelly began her teaching journey in third grade, but is excited to begin her third year of teaching first grade at OCE this year! She hopes that her own passion and love for learning will foster a classroom filled with love, hard work, GROWTH MINDSETS, and success! Miss Kelly’s favorite subjects are math and science, and she is always searching for new ways to engage students through hands-on, interactive learning.

Miss Kelly LOVES to travel, and she has visited over eighteen different countries! Italy and Germany are two of her favorite countries, while Iceland and Canada were her most recent adventures. She would like to travel to Greece or Norway next. The food, language, architecture, and culture of new places are her favorite things to explore. She hopes that her love for traveling the world will help her to create a classroom filled with global citizens!
Miss Kelly is excited for a WONDERFUL year with each of her first grade students and families! ☺

Ms. Combs

I am new to Olive Chapel but I absolutely love it. This school is so great and filled with the kindest people. I am born and raised in Raleigh, NC. I grew up playing soccer my whole life. I love to craft and make things! I went to school at UNC Pembroke and got my bachelors degree in something that has nothing to do with kids, but kids are my passion! I have always been drawn to working with kids, and I absolutely love seeing them grow and learn new things each and every day. I can’t wait to continue working at Olive Chapel and watch more kids grow!
